WEEKEND RECAP — PAISLEY PIRATES ON THE ROAD

ree

It was a busy weekend for the Paisley Pirates, with back-to-back fixtures testing every ounce of grit, teamwork, and determination. Across two tough games, the team demonstrated both resilience and skill — bringing home a convincing win on Saturday before a hard-fought battle on Sunday.

Saturday: Kilmarnock Thunder 3 – 9 Paisley Pirates

The Pirates travelled to Kilmarnock and came away with a strong victory and two well-deserved points.

Kilmarnock started the game with energy and determination, refusing to make things easy for the visitors. When the scoreline reached 3–3, it looked as though the match could go either way. However, the Pirates dug deep, showing composure and fight to regain control of the game and add six unanswered goals to secure the win.

Goal scorers:

  • Marcus Murdoch

  • Marty Simpson

  • Jamie Crawford (3)

  • Ryan Campbell

  • Magnus Wrottesley (2)

  • Cammy Millar

Man of the Match went to Magnus Wrottesley for his excellent performance and two well-taken goals.A special mention also goes to Jamie Crawford, who netted an impressive hat-trick.

The club also welcomed Under-19 player Jack McGowan, who joined the SNL squad for the evening and delivered a strong performance.

Thanks to Kilmarnock Thunder for a competitive and entertaining game.

Sunday: Whitley Warriors 5 – 2 Paisley Pirates

Less than 24 hours later, the Pirates were back on the ice for their second match of the weekend, this time away to the Whitley Warriors.

Despite showing plenty of effort and commitment, the Pirates were unable to overcome a well-organised Whitley side. Goals from Ryan Parkin and Craig Peacock ensured the team remained in contention throughout, but the Warriors ultimately pulled ahead to take the win.

Man of the Match was awarded to Daniel McGowan, who delivered a standout performance between the pipes, making several crucial saves to keep the Pirates in the game.

Two games, one excellent win, and plenty of positives to take forward. The Pirates continue to build momentum and show the determination that defines this team as the season progresses.
