The Paisley Pirates battled hard in a closely contested match against the Dundee Rockets but ultimately fell 3-2 in overtime at Braehead Arena. While the Pirates secured a point from the matchup, there was clear disappointment at not taking the full two.
A Tight, Hard-Fought Contest
The game was evenly matched from the outset, with both teams applying pressure and creating opportunities. Jay Herd opened the scoring for the Pirates, finding the net in what was a back-and-forth contest filled with intensity. Later in the game, Marty Simpson added another crucial goal to keep the Pirates in the fight as Dundee pressed forward.
Neither side was willing to give an inch, and the game remained level at full-time, forcing overtime. Unfortunately for the Pirates, it was the Rockets who found the breakthrough, securing the win and leaving Paisley with the extra point.
Man of the Match – Calum Blair
A standout performance came from Calum Blair, who was named Man of the Match for his efforts throughout the game. Blair played with determination and energy, making key contributions on both ends of the ice.
Looking Ahead – A Double Header Next Weekend
The Pirates now turn their attention to a crucial double-header next weekend. They will have an immediate chance at revenge against the Dundee Rockets on Saturday, away at Dundee Ice Arena, before returning home to Braehead Arena on Sunday to take on North Ayrshire Wild.
With a busy weekend ahead, the Pirates will be determined to bounce back and put more points on the board. Full game details will be released early in the week—stay tuned for updates!
