The Paisley Pirates return to home ice this Sunday, 9th February, as they take on the Kirkcaldy Kestrels at Braehead Arena. With both teams looking to secure vital points, this promises to be another thrilling encounter.
A Look Back: Pirates Edge Out Kestrels in October Battle
The last meeting between these two sides saw the Pirates claim a hard-fought 3-2 victory in Kirkcaldy. Chris Wilson, Alex Lane, and Bradley Annan found the net, with Annan scoring his first-ever goal for the Pirates—a milestone we’re sure is just the beginning.
That match highlighted the progress of our younger players, showing real confidence on the ice. The ability to train regularly in Braehead had started to pay off, as we put in a much stronger performance than in previous weeks. Though the season had a slow start, that night in October proved we were finding our rhythm, making the necessary adjustments to become more competitive.
Special credit went to Callum Donaghy, who was named Man of the Match after producing some outstanding saves, particularly in the final moments to secure the win.
Back at Home – Let’s Pack Braehead!
Now, we face the Kestrels once again—this time with home advantage. We’re looking to bounce back after a tough result in Aberdeen and keep pushing forward as we enter a crucial stretch of the season. Every voice in the stands makes a difference, so we need our fans loud and proud to help us defend home ice.
